A family roofing company
Tom started it. His son John runs the jobs now. One customer who hired Tom in 2010 called John for her new roof.
Tom, then John
Tom’s Roofing has been roofing Portland since 2006. Tom built it, and his son John Bui now runs the jobs: he takes the calls, inspects the roofs and writes the bids.
“This is a family owned business and I originally had work done back in 2010 with his dad, skylight replacement and minor roof repair.”
“John is doing a great job carrying on the tradition.”
How they work
- John inspects the roof himself and explains what he finds
- You get a price up front, and customers say it holds
- The crew shows up when they said they would
- Many roofs are finished in a day
- The yard and street are cleaned up before they leave
“One thing that stood out to me was that they came on-site and walked me through the steps they would be taking, which gave me a much better understanding of the work and what to expect.”
Licensed in Oregon
Tom’s Roofing & General Contractor Inc holds Oregon CCB license #172088 for residential and commercial work.

“The workers arrived early and stayed late to complete our roof in 1 day. There were no surprises with the estimate. We love the fact that this is a family business.”

“I’m an Oregon State Licensed General Contractor, and my house needed a new roof. I will definitely be referring Tom‘s Roofing & General Contractor, to any of my clients or anybody who asked me. They were very efficient, clean, respectful, and a pleasure to work with. The price was very reasonable compared to the other five quotes I received.”
