If you run a small business and you’re trying to figure out what a website should cost, these are my prices and what each one covers, along with what you’ll keep paying once the site is live. I keep it to a few flat prices with everything included, so you know the whole number before I start.

My prices

My launch prices for small businesses start at $250 for a website of up to 5 pages, and each price on this list is the whole price.

  • Small business website, $250. Up to 5 pages: home, services or menu, about, photos and contact. For a lot of small businesses that’s all the website they need.
  • Bigger website, $500. Up to 15 pages, plus a dashboard where you change your menu, events and hours yourself.
  • Store, bookings or memberships, from $1,000. Sites that sell online, take bookings or run memberships. You get one number before I start.
  • Hosting and upkeep, $25 a month. Hosting, backups, updates and small edits like new hours or prices. You can cancel any time.
  • Fixing a site you already have, $150. I find what’s broken on your current website and fix it. Bigger problems get a quote first.

What’s included with every site

  • A free, working demo of your homepage before you pay anything
  • Help writing the words
  • Logo cleanup
  • Your Google Business Profile, set up and pointed at the new site
  • Domain and email setup
  • Moving you off Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy
  • A site that works properly on phones
  • The basics search engines need
  • Ownership of the site, the domain and the logins

The domain name itself costs about $15 a year and gets paid straight to whoever sells it. I don’t mark anything up.

Why there are no add-ons

When I set these prices I didn’t want to nickel and dime anyone. There’s no menu of extras, no fee per page and no rush fee. If your business needs something unusual, I fold it into one number before I start, so the price you agree to is the price you pay.

What makes one website cost more than another

Mostly it comes down to how much the site has to do. A five page site that tells people who you are, what you do and how to reach you is the simplest kind. A site costs more when it has to sell things, take bookings, run memberships or let you change it yourself, because those parts take real building and testing.

If an agency quoted you a few thousand dollars, a lot of that pays for a team: an account manager, a designer, a developer and the meetings between them. I do the design and the building myself, which is a big part of how I keep my prices down.

What you’ll pay every month

Once the site is built, the ongoing costs are small. Hosting and upkeep is $25 a month, and the domain is about $15 a year. Website builders like Wix and Squarespace charge a monthly fee too, but with those you’re the one building the site and keeping it up to date.

How the free demo works

You tell me about your business and what isn’t working. I build a real, working homepage and send you the link, so you can try it on your own phone before you spend anything. If you like it, I build the rest. If you don’t, you don’t pay for it. You can see a few of the demos I’ve built on my Samples page.

Questions about price

Do I own the website?

Can you move my site off Wix or Squarespace?

Yes. Moving you off Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy is included with every site.
